Content Checklist
A preflight check for each page before it goes live
Run through this before marking any page as ready. It's a quick sanity check, not a full review — if you can say yes to everything here, the page is in good shape.
Every page
Clear headline
Does the hero headline communicate one clear idea in 10 words or fewer? Could someone landing on this page for the first time immediately understand what it's about?
Primary action
Is there one obvious thing the visitor should do? Is it easy to find without scrolling? If there are secondary actions, do they clearly take a back seat?
Readable copy
Paste the body text into Hemingway Editor. Is it grade 8 or below? Are paragraphs 2-3 sentences max?
No dead ends
Does the page link to at least one other page on the site? Does it end with a CTA or next step?
Real imagery
Does the page have at least one image? Is it a real photo (not stock)? Is it high enough resolution for its placement?
No "click here"
Scan all links on the page. Does every link describe where it goes? No "click here," "learn more," or "read more."
Alt text on images
Does every meaningful image have alt text that describes what's happening? Are decorative images left blank? See SEO for Content Writers for guidelines.

Don't forget
Replace all placeholder contact info (phone numbers, emails, addresses, EIN) with real information before the site goes live.
