Migration
How we carry the current site forward with a deliberate decision for every piece
The guiding principle for this project is simple: every piece gets a deliberate decision, so nothing slips away unnoticed. Everything the current site does, visible content and behind-the-scenes functionality alike, is inventoried, and each piece either carries forward or gets dropped on purpose (an advertising tag from an ended campaign, for example).
A lot of what a website does isn't obvious from the pages themselves. Donation processing, email signups, redirects, analytics, the dining center locator, accessibility and translation tools — these are foundational, and they're easy to overlook precisely because they're invisible when they work. This section catalogs them so none of it slips through the cracks during the rebuild.
